Sam was born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee. He attended The University of Tennessee and graduated with his undergraduate degree in kinesiology. He then worked as an advanced EMT in Knox County for 2 years before moving to Memphis, Tennessee, to attend physician assistant school at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Sam moved back to Knoxville in 2018 and has been practicing in orthopaedics ever since. He now works closely with Dr. Brian Tonne and Dr. Taylor Riden in the hospital, operating room, and clinic settings.
In his free time, Sam enjoys hiking, walking his dog, and cheering on the UT football, basketball, and baseball teams. He also loves spending time with his wife, Alyssa, and son, Cameron.
