Dr. Taylor Riden is a fellowship-trained and board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation expert. With years of advanced training, he joined Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic in 2023. Dr. Riden specializes in treating the neck, shoulder, elbow, back, hip, and knee using a range of nonsurgical treatments, including radiofrequency ablation, electromyography, and injections as well as image-guided injections using fluoroscopy and ultrasound.

He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from East Tennessee State University, Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from LMU-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Riden completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he was honored as UNC Resident of the Year and served as Chief Resident in his final year. He completed a fellowship in interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

His approach to patient care is to listen, diagnose, discuss options, and build a treatment plan that aligns with the patient’s goals. Dr. Riden is committed to serving his patients through his expertise to decrease pain and restore function so that over time, they can get back to the things they enjoy doing.

Dr. Riden specializes in interventional spine and musculoskeletal care and non-surgical treatment of spine and musculoskeletal disorders. He performs fluoroscopy-guided cervical, thoracic and lumbar procedures including epidural steroid injections, medial branch blocks and radiofrequency neurotomy, facet joint injections and sacroiliac joint injections; ultrasound-guided peripheral joint injections including shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle, as well as regenerative medicine (PRP); and electromyography/nerve conduction studies (EMG/NCS) and diagnostic neuromuscular ultrasound.

He is an active member of the Spine Intervention Society and North American Spine Society. He serves on the North American Spine Society (NASS) Early Career Advisory Council and is a member of the NASS Coverage and Coding Committee. He is actively involved in national coverage recommendations for interventional spine procedures and recently has completed the NASS Evidence-Based Medicine Certification Course.

A native of Morristown, Tennessee, Dr. Riden now lives in Knoxville with his wife, Mary Kate, and 2-year old son. He enjoys time with family, playing golf, running, Peloton, playing guitar and college sports (Go Vols!).
