Jake Purkins, DPT, has a passion for helping individuals with a variety of injuries and ailments – especially assisting athletes in their return to playing the sports they love. He specializes in sports performance therapy.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown College, where he played baseball, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Kentucky. While pursuing his DPT, he trained at Champion Physical Therapy and Performance under renowned therapists and strength coaches who specialize in sports performance training and rehabilitation, working with high-level collegiate, professional, fitness and Olympic athletes.
Jake is a Champion Performance Specialist, having completed the Champion Performance Therapy and Training System program and has attended multiple Baseball Performance Summits hosted by the leaders in the field. He joined OrthoTennessee in 2024.
Jake enjoys an active lifestyle and participates in a wide variety of activities, including hiking, kayaking, biking, working out, playing pickleball, golfing and attending sporting events. He loves spending quality time with his friends and family.
