"I have prayed and searched for a doctor for years that would be so kind and gracious to assist me in relieving the pain in my wrists that was operated on by another surgeon in 2007 and 2008. I couldn't do anything about it and it kept me up many, many nights. I searched for years for a doctor that was special in that way to take me in and be caring enough to do everything he could to relieve my symptoms. That is very important to me and makes Dr. Robert Ivy a true specialist. He knew what to do and didn't suggest any procedures that could hinder me further in the future. He commits to the care of his patients. I admire him for taking on my situation that other doctors would not touch within miles. He has helped me more than any other doctor that I have gone to.
Dr. Ivy has given me several options of care for my wrists that help decrease the pain when they hurt so bad that I feel like I can't take it anymore. The tens unit gives me relief on the worst of days and the patches work great when I have to mop the floors or do activities around the house. The injections of cortisone shots instantly took the pain away for days. Being his patient and what he did for my wrists, was the greatest I've felt since surgery.
Thank you, Dr. Ivy, for taking me in as your patient and helping me deal with this life changing experience. My life will never be the same, but knowing there are still people that care about people makes me very blessed. I'm blessed to have you for my doctor. I will certainly recommend you to all my friends and family members."
"Thanks to my total hip replacement performed by Dr. Herman Botero, I can now lead a normal life again. I could not walk, sleep, or sit without pain. Thanks to Dr. Botero, after only 3 weeks I am back to almost all of my normal function and my pain is gone! I would recommend Dr. Botero to anyone who is in pain. He is a wonderful choice for your surgery."
"I am a 33 y.o. male with avascular necrosis in my femoral heads. Dr. Herman Botero recently performed a right total hip replacement on me. He used an anterior (frontal) approach to replace the hip and this surgery went perfectly. I had the other hip replaced a few years ago using the posterior (back) approach by another surgeon. The anterior approach is much less painful in my experience and I appreciate that he took the best approach and not the easiest when operating on my hip. The anterior approach has left me with so much more mobility and much less pain than the normal posterior approach and I am really grateful for that. It actually doesn't even compare to the pain associated with the first surgery. I am legitimately amazed by how well this whole procedure went. He and his staff treated me with nothing but care and respect. I felt as though they really cared and I wasn't just some random patient. I would highly recommend him to anyone I knew that needed orthopedic knee or hip care."
"I am 33 y.o. and unfortunately, I have avascular necrosis. Due to this illness, I have had to have multiple surgeries. Dr. Edwin Spencer has operated on me 4 times over the past 3 years (2 shoulder core decompressions and 2 partial shoulder replacements). I have nothing but great things to say about his skill as a surgeon. All of my surgeries went perfectly and because of him, I am still able to work as a firefighter with no restrictions. I was treated with great respect every time I visited the office by him and all of the staff. He and his PAs took time to sit and talk with me and explain all the details of my illness and the procedures that should be performed. I would recommend him to anyone needing orthopedic care on the shoulder or elbow. What he and his team did for me is nothing short of a miracle in my mind."
"Thanks to Dr. Herman Botero, I can once again walk without pain. I was dealing with hip pain for over 4 years and the total hip replacement removed the pain within weeks. Dr. Botero was very professional and had a great bedside manner.
I would recommend him to anyone. Thanks for giving me my activities back!"
"I woke up on Thanksgiving morning unable to walk, sit, or stand. Basically, I was miserable. I had shooting pain down my right leg and I have 2 small boys to take care of. Dr. Luke Madigan performed a Lumbar Discectomy with revision and now I can move again. I have my life back, I am able to do the things that I want and my kids have their dad back!"
"After my Rotator Cuff and Upper Bicep Tendon Repair by Dr. Paul Becker at KOC, I can once again do anything I wish! But Dr. Becker suggested I stay off of Ripsticks! Also, a shout out to Shane from the physical therapy center! I feel great!
"I can now walk with my left leg just 4 weeks after surgery, thanks to Dr. Herman Botero and my care at KOC. I am using a cane but feel great and have no pain. Dr. Botero did a great job and it all went just as I was told. My incision is more on the side of my knee and shorter than all of my friends' incisions. It has healed nicely with little discomfort. I certainly recommend Dr. Botero and working with the entire staff at KOC and at Park West was a very easy, smooth and professional process. The therapy department at Fort Sanders West has been great and have taken me through the therapy process with so much care and personal interaction and have made my recovery a very smooth process. If you are considering or need a knee or hip replaced call KOC and ask for Dr. Herman Botero, you will not be sorry you did. If, in the future, I need my right knee replaced he will be the doctor I call. It has been an excellent experience with little pain through the whole process. If you do this let me tell you that the most important thing you can do is the therapy at home just as they tell you to do and your recovery should be so much better and quicker. Oh, and don't forget the ice, it is so very important and they even give you an ice cooler device for your home therapy. I've been through a number of surgeries and this has been the best experience by far. Thank you Dr. Botero, your staff and the therapy staff at Ft. Sanders West."
"I'm finally sending some pictures. We were in Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland hiking to an overlook of the Tablelands. At the top were these chairs from where I spotted the moose. Thank you, Dr. Matt Naudad and all the others who helped me to be able to continue hiking."
"I want to thank Dr. Matthew Rappe and KOC for the two knee surgeries he has done and the great care I received. In a week he is operating on my right shoulder. Dr. Rappe is an amazing doctor, one of the nicest and most kind doctors I've ever met!"
"This is my second total knee replacement and Dr. Randy Fly has made this procedure very comfortable. My recovery seems to be progressing faster than the last time. I can now look forward to returning to my normal life activities without all the pain and stiffness. I am very thankful for the care I have received at KOC and would recommend Dr. Fly to anyone needing knee replacement."
"I had put off hip surgery for a year or more. However, over the summer months, I was still trying to play golf, altering my swing to accommodate hip pain. Pain killers weren't helping. At 70, I was concerned about recovery time or if I would recover at all, but I could not continue to play with the pain. Having had several successful procedures done at KOC, I called for an appointment. Of course, you always pray that God is in control. I saw Dr. Herman Botero who is fairly new to the Knoxville area. He recommended hip replacement. After the surgery on Dec. 12, the therapist came into my room. He said that Dr. Botero does "anterior" procedure which is less invasive, therefore, I had no restrictions--unbelievable! I used a walker until a few days ago and then I graduated to a cane. I saw Dr. Botero today, Dec 31. He told me that I didn't need the cane and he wants to see me before I leave for an annual guys' golf trip in February. I feel extremely fortunate and would recommend Dr. Herman Botero and KOC to anyone. The therapists were surprised to see "no restrictions" on the therapy order. Thanks to my care at KOC, I can walk without a walker or cane only 19 days after hip replacement!"
