Dr. Fly went into medicine because of his fascination with medical science. A desire to help others and his love of sports growing up made orthopaedics, especially sports medicine, a natural fit. The feeling of making a difference in someone's life, whether physical or mental, gives him great joy.
Not only does Dr. Fly value getting to know his patients and their families, he recognizes the importance of clearly explaining their treatment. The well-being of his patients comes first; therefore, he tries to treat each one as he would a friend or relative. He strives to help people return to good health, whether that's to a favorite sport or simply a better quality of life.
Dr. Fly’s orthopaedic interest is mainly in sports medicine and adult reconstruction. He specializes in arthroscopic treatment of shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle disorders. This includes arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and stabilization procedures, as well as arthroscopic treatment of knee ligament and meniscal injuries.
Dr. Fly went to high school in Chattanooga and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, so he's happy to be back in East Tennessee. He, his wife Jessica and their two daughters have made their home in Dandridge. Dr. Fly enjoys serving as the team physician for Jefferson County High School.
Dr. Fly is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
