Michael C. Craig, M.D.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist

Dr. Michael Craig is a Knoxville native who rejoined his Knoxville family to practice in his hometown. A graduate of Bearden High School, Dr. Craig obtained his bachelor’s degree with honors of Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. He then pursued his interest in rehabilitation by attending the Ohio State University College of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Craig completed residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Alabama Birmingham where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed additional subspecialty training in Spinal Cord Injury and Spine Medicine during a fellowship at the Spain Rehabilitation Center at the University of Alabama Birmingham.

While in Birmingham and in Knoxville as a University of Tennessee Clinical Assistant Professor, Dr. Craig co-authored peer-reviewed research and consumer articles and delivered invited lectures both nationally and regionally. Dr. Craig has repeatedly been recognized by regional physicians in Cityview Magazine's "Top Doctors in Knoxville" issue.

As a physiatrist, Dr. Craig focuses on the non-operative treatment of patients with musculoskeletal disorders of the spine, pelvis and upper extremity. Dr. Craig has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral nerve disorders by electrodiagnostic studies including electromyography and nerve conduction studies.

Dr. Craig, his wife, two daughters and son are active members in the Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, gardening, woodworking and scouting with his children.
