Dr. Spencer Co-Hosts National Shoulder & Elbow Event

Dr. Edwin E. Spencer, one of Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic’s shoulder & elbow surgeons, was proud to co-host an event on September 23 in Nashville for the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) Foundation. The event was one of four held across the country on the same night to celebrate National Shoulder and Elbow Week. The Foundation invited patients, families, surgeons, physicians, and therapists to come together at the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum to raise awareness of the exciting and important work to improve shoulder and elbow health in the community and across the nation.

The fundraising event featured Dr. Spencer’s patient, Charles McRae, as the keynote speaker. McRae, a former offensive lineman for the University of Tennessee and first round draft pick in 1991, underwent shoulder replacement with Dr. Spencer’s team. He was able to share with the crowd his insight on shoulder surgery as a patient and athlete.
