Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic is proud to announce the addition of a fluoroscopy suite to the Fort Sanders West office, conveniently located off Kingston Pike near Pellissippi Parkway. This new resource allows patients to have the x-ray guided spine and pain procedures they need in the location they want – their doctor’s office. Nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablations, and joint injections that don’t require anesthesia or an IV can all be done in the new KOC fluoroscopy suite.
Fluoroscopy is an imaging technique that uses live motion, real-time x-rays of the musculoskeletal system. This ensures precise needle positioning so that medication is injected directly into the correct location. Dr. Michael Craig and Dr. Bruce Fry, KOC’s physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists, use this minimally-invasive technology to alleviate back pain and treat other orthopaedic issues. Fluoroscopy can lead to better results, fewer complications, and increased patient comfort.
Traditionally, fluoroscopy has been done in a surgical setting. This meant more time, cost, and hassle for the patient. Bringing this same technology into the office can dramatically reduce a patient’s out-of-pocket cost, including deductibles and copays as well as facility and anesthesia fees. It offers those with chronic or acute pain a more streamlined path to treatment so they can get back to the life they love.
