Athletic Trainers

Katie Zackowitz Rosa, ATC

Katie Zackowitz Rosa, ATC Katie Zackowitz Rosa is the Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) for Powell High School provided by Mercy Medical Center's Sports Medicine. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Exercise Science with a concentration in Athletic Training from Southern Connecticut State University. She completed her Master's Degree in Physical Education from the University of South Carolina. Katie has been an ATC since 2007.

“I first got interested in Athletic Training in high school when a track and field injury landed me in a physical therapy clinic,” Katie says. The idea of helping athletes recover from injuries and get back to playing sports was a perfect fit for her.

Katie's favorite part of athletic training is watching an athlete recover from an injury and go on to accomplish their goals on and off the field. She especially enjoys high school athletic training because of the variety of sports she gets to work with on a daily basis.

In her free time, Katie enjoys running and spending time with her husband. They are both avid sports fans, and enjoy ice skating and baseball.
