Athletic Trainers

Joshua S. Chandler, MS, ATC

Joshua S. ChandlerJoshua Chandler is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with the Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training and a Master’s in Sports Management from Appalachian State University.

Joshua works with West High School and has been an athletic trainer since 2002. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainer Association. Joshua has helped with the North Carolina Shriner’s East/West games from 2000 to 2002. He is responsible for the organization and promotion of Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic’s Annual Student Athletic Trainer Camp.

Staying active in sports is the main reason Joshua became an athletic trainer. He has always had an interest in medicine and science. To him, the importance of athletic training is the love of the game and competition, “…because it’s not about scholarship or a paycheck,” Joshua says.

In his spare time, he likes watching and attending baseball games and Carolina Panther football.

“Believe it or not I like to watch sports even though that’s all I do at work,” Joshua says.

He also enjoys hiking, exploring nature and being with friends, and spends other free time surfing the internet, watching movies and playing his Xbox. “I like most everything that involves competition.”
