John M. Ambrosia, M.D.

Hand Surgery Specialist

Dr. John Ambrosia was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Loyola University of Chicago and Loyola University-Stritch School of Medicine. After completing his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis he completed his training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. At the Mayo Clinic he participated in and completed an intensive one year fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery.

Dr. Ambrosia joined the Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic in 1986. He specializes in problems related to the upper extremity especially involving the hand. He enjoys the subspecialty nature of the Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic which allows him to focus his attention and efforts on problems, injuries, and diseases of the hand.
Dr. Ambrosia has been selected by his peers to the "Best Doctors in America” and Cityview Magazine's "Top Doctors in Knoxville." He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has obtained the Certificate for Added Qualifications for Surgery of the Hand. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Ambrosia has been married to his wife Lou for 25 years and they have three children. He enjoys carpentry and gardening in his spare time.
